The rainforest valley adjoining Kentia is a major nesting area for seabirds, including the amazing White Tern. Each summer the valley becomes alive with these gentle birds which lay their eggs directly onto the branches of the tall pine trees without any nest.
You will see and hear the abundant birdlife around Kentia. From the vibrant Crimson Rosellas, a family of Californian Quail, blackbirds every where, the local kingfisher "Nuffka' and ever present Song Thrush.
The White Capped Noddy flock around Kentia in summer, in the valley in front and in the Pine Trees at the back. Flocks of Noddys soak up the heat on the road outside the Garden Cottage expecting cars to yield right of way!
